With Chase Field being just up the road a few minutes from Corpus, it's my suggestion we could  expand our reunion experience significantly if everyone were to muster in Corpus Christi. We'll have a "Welcome Back party at a hotel/motel in Corpus on Thursday, April 11. On Friday, April 12, we'll have charter busses pick everyone up and drive us up to Beeville where we'll tour the base and watch T-45 Training Jets from NAS Kingsville salute the sailors of Chase Field with some flybys. After the base tour, the busses will take us on a little tour of Beeville to our lunch destination in Beeville. After lunch the busses will take us back to Corpus. At 4:30 everyone can begin touring the USS Lexington. At 6:00, in Hanger Bay 2, (it's air-conditioned,) there will be a cocktail reception with a bar and live music. At 7:00 Tra Wing 3 Commander ('76-78) Commodore Tom Wimberly, will share some thoughts about Chase Field and it's Sailors followed up by a memorable sit-down dinner.

In addition to see old and making new friends, It's a great way to expand the reunion experience. We've got the welcome back party, the base tour, not to mention touring and dining on the USS Lexington; an added bonus for those Chase Field sea duty sailors to once again feel beneath their sea-legs that cold, hard steel. Plus, it leaves Saturday and Sunday open to explore and visit friends and places. Not to mention it cuts out the absolute need/cost for a rental car.

The reason for having the "Welcome Back" party on Thursday is the ship is already booked with what they call their "Overnight Camping" program for Scouts and Schools on the weekends which would prevent us having our evening program so we moved it to Friday.

  10:30 am Arrive at Chase Field - Presentation from the TDCJ
  11:00 am Begin tour of base
  11:20 am T-45's from NAS Kingsville salute NAS Chase Field sailors with fly by.
  12:00 pm Conclude bus tour of base- conduct brief tour of Beeville on the way to lunch.
  2:00 pm Leave Beeville for return to Corpus
  3:30 pm Arrive back in Corpus
  4:30 pm Tour the USS Lexington
  6:00 pm Reception with guest speaker and live music, (The bar is a "no host" bar)
  7:00 pm Sit-down dinner on the air-conditioned hanger deck 2.
Saturday &  Sunday   Attendees return home or visit the area and friends

Reunion Cost
The cost to attend his reunion will be just $8.00 more than it cost to attend the 1st reunion. The total estimated cost is $98.00 per person which includes everything motioned above. (Keep in mind the bar at the reception is a NO HOST bar, meaning the drinks are not free.)

Reunion Attendance - One of the conditions for making this reunion happen is we will need a minimum of 100 registered attendees. That includes wives and/or girlfriends,  and since our last reunion had 90 registered/paid attendees, 10 more shouldn't be a stretch

Registrations, Cancellations and refunds, - All registrations and payments must be received no later than 30 days prior to the reunion date, meaning, we must have your registration form and check by no later than March 11, 2013. Unfortunately, due to the "guarantee" arrangements we have to make with the various vendors the hotel, the ship, the caterers, etc., we can not issue refunds for cancellations made after March 11, 2013.

Online registration, we would like to make it easier for everyone to fill out the registration form by making it available to do so online. Sadly, my website/form making skills are woefully lacking and so if you know of someone who would be willing to volunteer their time and services to helping us set up this much needed tool, it would be greatly appreciated by everyone.
